Abstract
The geneBs-Ag3enconding aantigenof 37kDa fromBaylisascarisschroederi(giant panda isolates), as well as therecombinantBs-Ag3, obtained bycloningandexpressionof theBs-Ag3gene in heterologous hostEscherichia coliBL-21 (DE3), were used to evaluate their ability to induce immune protective responses in BALB/cmiceagainst L3-challenge infection in a mouse-B.schroederimodel.There was a significant reduction (62.91%) ofmicevaccinated with rBs-Ag3 coupled with Freund's complete adjuvant (FCA) in recovery of challengedB.schroederiL3 compared with either controls ormicevaccinated with FCA alone. Our data indicaterecombinantBs-Ag3may be a potential target as a vaccineantigenfor giant panda ascariasis.
